Black & White - An aesthetic of photography

With the health crisis, many exhibitions have been interrupted, postponed or even cancelled. Faced with this situation, museums have decided to find new solutions to allow works to exist and the public to discover them in digital form.
In black and white with the great names of photography at the Grand Palais, we are invited to explore their artistic fields in a different way...

The Grand Palais is offering virtual tours of this wonderful exhibition dedicated to black and white photography. There is no specific subject or period, all the works are in black and white, of course, but here it is all about the aesthetics of black and white! More than 300 works produced between 1852 and 2020 by 200 photographers of all nationalities, including some of the greatest names in photography from Willy Ronis to Diane Arbus, will reveal all the power and plastic richness of black and white.

We are guaranteed a feeling of total immersion in the scenographic spaces with an approach as close as possible to the works on display. So don't hesitate, because although the virtual does not replace the work, seeing art always feels good!

Two tours are available:

A self-guided virtual tour with an audioguide (€4) or a tour led by a lecturer from the RMN (Réunion des musées nationaux) (€9).
