Mixed technique

Mixed media includes all works of art that incorporate a variety of materials and components in a single piece. Mixed media art is a work of art that combines acrylic paint with fabric and paper. Scrapbooking, sketchbooks, decoupage, greeting card design, and mixed media art journals are just a few examples of projects in which mixed media can be used. This artistic style dates back to the cubist creations of Pablo Picasso from 1912 to 1914, the root of the term itself, in its aesthetic sense, goes back to the artist Jean Dubuffet in the 1950s.

Description
Since the summer of 2023, I have been on a quest to collect hair ties from the streets of Paris, wrapping them around a bamboo stick to make a totem. This ritual, born on the Île de Ré to strengthen a cracked stick, has evolved into a meditative practice, where each hair tie represents a fragment of a larger story. It takes about 300 hair ties and a month of walking to create a totem. “Moving totem bamboo” explores the connection between the singular and the collective, the intimate and the public space, at the intersection of art, geography and anthropology, documenting and geolocating each hair tie to create a sensory map of urban life.
