Outre les conteneurs tombés à l’eau, les futs de produits toxiques périmés et autres contenants sensibles dont on veut se débarrasser discrètement, la mer -poubelle est devenue, entre autres , une bombe à retardement nucléaire mondiale . Des millions de milliards de becquerels reposent au fond des mers, souvent dans des futs exposés à la corrosion et risquant ainsi un jour de s’en échapper (si ce n’est déjà fait), quand ce n’est pas dans des sous-marins nucléaires accidentés, véritables épaves radioactives, ou dans d’autres engins militaires. La dispersion de ces mortels éléments, entrainés par les courants océaniques, ne peut qu’agir sur la santé de la biosphère. Et in fine sur la nôtre !!
