Description

At the centre of the picture is the peacock, whose body is depicted in a rich, shimmering blue. Its long neck and characteristic head with the small crown of feathers are precisely worked out and give the bird a proud, upright posture. The highlight of the drawing is undoubtedly the peacock's magnificent tail. The numerous tail feathers spread out in a fan shape around the body and fill the background. Each individual feather is carefully drawn, with the typical "eyes" in blue and green tones, surrounded by delicate yellowish-green shades. The colouring is particularly impressive. The transitions from blue to green and yellow in the feathers are fluid and lifelike. The contrast between the intense blue of the body and the lighter, shimmering tones of the plumage gives the picture depth and liveliness. The drawing impresses with its attention to detail and at the same time with a certain lightness achieved through the coloured pencil technique. The white background makes the peacock stand out even more and reinforces the impression of its majestic appearance.
