Transmissions explores the relationship between individuals. For the artist, no one can exist separately because we are part of an intergenerational web within Mother Nature. Sunflowers symbolically and pictorially links the contemporary period to that of ancient South America. Sunflowers, highly symbolic flowers for the Incas and Aztecs, are highlighted in a central location...The past and present thus coexist under the eye of the Sun God in a very contemporary design. Before the actual drawing, the artist created a background using vegetable dye and cyanotype, then drew the patterns in inks. It is a piece on thick cotton craft paper. A1 format, fringed edges.
